Birding news from Portugal Broad News

Autumn is particularly fertile in “rare” birds. Portugal is strategically placed on an important migration route for some birds. It is therefore normal that during autumn migration there is a large flow of several species that do not reside in our territory.

During migration, it is also “usual” for species to occur that, not using this migration route, “occasionally” end up traveling through it. And it is these “rarities” that we hope to see in the autumn migration.

This year has been good and the last few weeks have been particularly fantastic. Until we saw it, we got 3 lifers and great photos of less usual species, such as American plover or white-rumped sandpiper.

Being able to share these birds with our customers also makes each tour even more special. Being located in Lisbon, we always end up “close” to any bird that occurs in any part of the national territory (islands included!).
